The race is coming up very soon and all I can hear in my head is that song by Pink Floyd. He just keeps saying, “You better run!” All last week my focus was running daily to shed as many pounds as possible before this race. Running with added weight on your body is difficult.
My pup Leo helped me mix it up!
The Texas heat was taking it’s toll on me during those early morning runs which made it very easy to shed excess fluid. After looking at the last two months of results I’m so freaking depressed by what I see and yes my clothes feel tighter.
Here is the thing, in order for me to drop weight I began strictly clean eating. I’m an emotional eater, this is not a secret. When I strip my diet down like this I find out who I really am and what foods I hide behind. It’s an eye opening experience.
Any problem that I have hasn’t been drank away with a yummy coffee from Starbucks. No little piece of chocolate has been snuck to make me feel better when someone really upsets me.
This is a race that I have done before so I know better than to eat like crap right now, no thank you. I can be disciplined for short periods of time because it’s the long haul that is a problem. There are a lot of holes in my life that have been plugged with chocolate, cookies or a glass of wine.
Right now it’s all stripped away.
Right now I’m just waiting to go back into hiding.
At least that’s what it feels like and I’m suddenly surrounded by negativity in real life and online. All I want to do is run my race and continue to work out to the best of my ability. I’m hoping to step slowly away from every avenue that is bringing added stress into my life.
Lot’s of running but not logging a lot of miles.
Scale Reading– 166 That is a 5 pound loss from last week.
Stress Level – It’s still very high. I have to get better at managing my stress.
The UP side– 5 mile race on July 4th in just 2 more days
A special reminder for us all…
