Traveling with Dad

Silly is traveling with Dad for a few days for a wedding. We are going to miss her energy around the house. She seemed a bit conflicted about leaving us for so many days. She wanted to fly on the airplane, push the elevator buttons and swim at the hotel. She doesn’t want to be “gone so long.” I’m a little worried that she might get home sick.

It’s just the two of them but my husband is armed with:

  • colors and a coloring/activity book
  • iPad and iPhone with games (Forest Flyer is her favorite right now)
  • a few doll house toys
  • Scooby Doo and Mercer Mayer books
  • a few go to snacks if he is in a jam

It makes me happy that they have this time together. He’s going to be really surprised by what he has been missing. He sees her every day, but it’s not the same. During the week they get very little time together. When traveling it will be only the two of them adjusting to each other. She’s really a lot of fun, smart and very sweet. I think she will make his heart swell.

I’m missing her already but he is sending me pictures so it makes it a little easier. This brings me to you my readers…

Great advice for parents everywhere. I love how you mention being prepared with activities that will keep the little ones occupied. I’m so glad that they got to spend time together!

Thank you very much. Would you have added anything to the list? I’m glad they get some time together too. I’m sure she will remember her trip for years to come.

My kids have not traveled alone with daddy so I can understand how you feel. The supplies are perfect to keep her entertained :)

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment. I’m glad you agree with the supplies. You can never be to sure how long those will keep her occupied.

She is such a cutie! My little guy took an overnight trip with his dad and it was a great bonding experience for them. -Jamie

Seems that all will be well since dad is well armed :)
It is good for the fathers to have these times with their children.
    I wish mine did.

Mine don’t travel with their father alone, but I think that will change soon as I’m thinking I wont be going on anymore trips, so they will be going alone with their father.

    Happy weekend!
