Our son suffers from tree nut allergies which means we have to get creative with substitutions when it comes to a great snack idea. I’m really happy with these new sandwich rounds made by Nature’s Own and wanted to share a few quick recipes with you.
Find these 100% whole wheat sandwich rounds in a resealable bag at your local grocery store. Take two slices and spread on some yummy peanut butter and there you have it! Your servings of wheat and protein. It tastes great! You could give it to your kids (those that don’t have peanut allergies) as an after school snack.
Our son does suffer from tree nut allergies and peanut butter is not an option for him. We substitute peanut butter with SoyNut Butter and he gets to enjoy this quick after school snack too. If you do use SoyNut Butter you can find more recipes on the SoyNut Butter recipes blog.
The sandwich rounds provide lots of options! You could get creative and make small pizzas! Just add some sauce, pepperoni and mozzarella cheese.
Another quick recipe would be to add sliced ham or turkey and top with a slice of cheese and then toast it. Get creative and get your kids in on the action. It’s fun food!
Don’t forget the Nutella spread as an option too and if you would like more recipe ideas you can view suggestions on the Nature’s Own website. These are my favorite kind of recipes, quick and easy, now that’s what I call a great snack idea.
