A New Way To Tie Shoes

October 3, 2013 by Pamela M. Kramer 2 Comments

I can keep you in the loop with great tips and laughs straight to your inbox with my monthly newsletter. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. Got questions? I might have an answer! Leave it in the comments.

Have you noticed how there are more options of shoes that simply slide on or come with velcro? Our Silly loves shoes and she has so many pairs! She owns slippers, flip flops, boots, sandals, dress shoes, ballet shoes, tap shoes, rain boots and tennis shoes. The shoe consumption might be slightly out of hand. The point is she rarely wears shoes that she has to tie.

Now that she is going to “big girl” school she has to learn to tie her own shoes. Her teacher made it very clear at our parent meeting, “I only tie shoes for two weeks and then they are on their own!” Then it hit me! Oh my goodness we have never showed this poor child how to tie her own shoes. The thought never occurred to me because we are barely tying shoes any more.

We have worked with her a couple of times. She came home today telling me that she can tie her own shoes and that she had been practicing at school. When she showed me it was a new way to tie shoes that I had never seen before! Watch below what my child learned this week.

Have you ever seen that before? She’s pretty clever to figure that out and it works.

Thank you! She’s super clever. As a matter of fact just Friday night she cut her hair. Yep, gave herself a mullet. The beautician tried to “blend” it today. Yea, um…. it’s gonna have to grow out. Something about this really awesome angle on one side that you can’t get on the other side. SMH… good times..

Welcome!
