My manual mode photography class is over I’m sad to report. The week before it ended we were working on capturing the detail of this flower outside. That one is my favorite because of the detail up close and the out of focus background. My last take home assignment was to catch the sunset. There was a perfect unobstructed view from the church parking lot. For some reason I chose to come home instead of staying.
What a shame because there were roofs and fences all around me. To get a better view I got in the car and drove until there was clear spot. It’s the bottom left image. I’m not sure if it is right because the day we were suppose to share photos fell on the same day my son had a piano recital. That was the official last day of my class. It’s impossible to be in two places at once. Afterward I spent the weekend fooling around. There were some great captures in manual mode but the game pieces and that portion of her face are my favorites. I’m trying to get better on the front end so that there is less photo editing afterward. Each of these shots are in manual mode without any filters or editing. I’m excited to learn more. Have you seen the manual mode cheat sheets?
These are handy tools but they don’t take the place of good old fashioned practice.
