What’s Your Image Title? A Pinterest Tip

This week my interest was to make a Texas Bloggers Pinterest board for all the bloggers that I network with in Texas. Pinterest is a valuable resource to it’s users and what a great way to help you organize different topics with boards. As I began to go through my list of bloggers it surprised me how many left the “Title” option blank in their images.

What's Your Image Title? A Pinterest Tip by @PamelaMKramer

Have you ever tried to pin your own blog? Try it! See what images come up and see what kind of descriptions you have in place for your image titles. You can always edit!

Pinterest Tip for image title

This is a basic screen shot of my blog. If I want to see what happens when someone tries to pin an image from my blog here are the options that are offered using Pinterest.

Pinterest Tip for image title

Depending on what kind of board you are pinning to would make a difference as to which image you would want to choose. Because I’m creating a Texas bloggers board and I don’t see A Renaissance Woman badge as an option, then I would opt to take the bloggers profile image. In this case mine is the one on the far left in the middle.

Now let’s see what happens when I select it!

Image Title Description for Pinterest

Here is the “Title” for my image “Houston Mom Blogger and Consultant @PamelaMKramer (which is my Twitter handle) to Tweet or visit my site PamelaMKramer.com.” You can’t miss me! Now maybe you want to use some other methods of getting your name out there but you get the idea.

It’s important to name your images! You don’t want that text to come up as 54126.jpg or Head Shot profile picture, right? Take control and put your own text in!

Anyone can change the text but if you already have a prefilled description then they are likely to click on the Pin It button and move on.  Give it a shot and see what kind of editing you might need to do on your own blog. How do you want your images to read?

The last tip that was shared about Pinterest was about using descriptions when pinning to Pinterest.
