Let’s talk Pinterest today-
Usually when I’m working in my day to day blogging/social media land I seem to come across something that is a really good to tip to share with my readers. Tuesday Tips is a basic “How To” series here on my blog that is designed to help bloggers and folks in social media. If you have any questions or anything that you think would be a great idea to cover please let me know in the comment section. The last tip that was shared about Pinterest was about using descriptions when pinning to Pinterest. I’m really happy that some of you found that post useful.
It’s not a secret that Pinterest is a great tool! It’s great to use boards as a way to get people back to your blog or website too. This week my interest was to make a Texas Bloggers Pinterest board for all the bloggers that I network with in Texas. As I began to go through my list it surprised me how many people didn’t name their images. Have you ever tried to pin your own blog? Try it! See what images come up and see what kind of descriptions you have in place for your images. You can always edit!
This is a basic screen shot of my blog. Now if I want to see what happens when someone tries to pin an image from my blog here are the options that are offered using Pinterest.
Depending on what kind of board you are pinning to would make a difference as to which image you want. Because I’m creating a Texas bloggers board and I don’t see A Renaissance Woman badge as an option then I would opt to take the bloggers profile image. In this case mine is the one on the far left in the middle. Now let’s see what happens when I select it!
Here is my “Title” for my image Houston Mom Blogger and Consultant @PamelaMKramer (which is my Twitter handle) to Tweet or visit my site PamelaMKramer.com. You can’t miss me! Now maybe you want to use some other methods of getting your name out there but you get the idea. It’s important to name your images! You don’t want that text to come up as 54126.jpg or Head Shot profile picture, right? Take control and put your own text in! Now anyone can change this but if you already have a handy laid out description then why bother? Give it a shot and see what kind of editing you might need to do on your own blog. How do you want your images to read? See you next Tuesday for another “How To” segment on Tuesday Tips with A Renaissance Woman.
