5k or Kid’s mile?
What a great day for a 5k and one mile kid’s race! It was really nice and cool out. My plan was to run this race but due to some scheduling issues it didn’t happen. My son however, signed up for the kid’s one mile race. We got there a little early and my Silly decided she wanted to ride the mechanical bull. It wasn’t long before she got knocked off but she had a lot of fun while it lasted.
Meet Fred a golden retriever from Seabrook. He is a service dog for a family that has boys with autism. I asked the owner what Fred does for the boys and she said Fred helps find the boys if they wonder off. This made me think about the current fundraiser for Shane. He needs help getting a service dog to help with ptsd.
The race began and 7 minutes and 38 seconds later he ran across the finish line! We were so excited for him. He finished 8th over all. While we waited for awards Bullritos was there to serve egg, cheese and bacon burritos and water. It was a great turn out! Maybe next year we can run the 5k together.
