We have a scout in our house and with that comes lots of traditions one of them being the court of honor ceremony. The ceremony is to show their family the badges that they have earned. This is the time when they are also awarded any new rankings. In the scout world this is a really big deal as it should be since we are celebrating their hard work. The pin below is another important part of the process.
When our son’s name is announced my husband and I go to the front and stand with our son while he receives his new badges. This pin is handed to him and in turn he pins it on my shirt with one hand since he still has a cast. We are very proud of him and in case it’s hard to see, the pin says “Be Prepared.”
Now to share my favorite Instagram video with you. My son is currently the chaplain in his troop and this his ending prayer.
“Thank you lord for all the badges and rankings our scouts have received. Bless us as we go around this week and bless the food we are about to eat. AMEN!”
