Thank you for supporting me the past few weeks while training for this race. There was a lot of preparation this year. Honestly, my decision to enter the Baytown Bud Heat Wave was made about 3 weeks prior to race day.
We had a great time racing last year.
What you see here is packet pick-up at On The Run in Clear Lake and my favorite treat Sport Beans. Here is a great shot of the Fred Hartman bridge on the way to the race. You can see a better shot over here on my post The Best Part of 4th of July was ______. It’s a really great capture. Following the bridge my friend Keith and I are prepping. He let me borrow face paint! It’s not easy to draw a flag on your face. Keith won best male costume and Steve and I just cheered him on. We had a great time.
It was not nearly as hot as it was last year. My time was a minute slower but I really felt great, no pain and handled it like a champ I thought. Those guys finished in half my time! Amazing. They inspire me to just keep going.
You have to see Silly at my Zumba class below. She rocks!
Still trying to find a routine that works with the summer.
Tuesdays are spin, Fridays are circuit training, Sundays are now R.I.P.P.E.D.
Scale Reading– 174 That is an 8 pound gain from last week.
Stress Level – What the heck?!
The UP side– I’m surrounded by a great group of encouraging folks online and offline. I’ll take it.
A special reminder for us all…
