I’m ending the year not at all where I wanted to be but certainly a larger loss than the last two years. It’s tough because I know I did get down to 151 which was my lowest this year (Paleo people!). I’m not fully recovered mentally about losing my trainer but I’m getting there physically. I know I need to get back on the horse so to speak.
Looking at the photos below sort of makes me sad but I need to let it all go so I can move on. I thought about applying as a Mamavation applicant because I have never done it. I’m not cleared to do anything I want yet. Right now my result of all these tests is that I have a herniated disk and a pinched nerve. All of this in the L4, L5, S1 areas of my body.
A lot of my foot pain is actually a result of my back. Who knew? What does that all mean? Nothing really because I’m not having surgery. I don’t have tingling or numbness so I figure I am still functioning pretty well. I’m not getting those epidural shots. That might relieve inflammation but it’s not going to cure me.
Solution? Get rid of the inflammation in my body using Fish Oil, Salt baths and getting on track with my diet and laying off Starbucks. Water…and more water….and start to work out again. I don’t know if it will be Crossfit or not. I need to start somewhere, I’m just not sure where that place is yet. I need to be my own trainer. My dependency completely set me back in ways I couldn’t even imagine.
Lessons learned this year.
1.) Mix up your work outs!
2.) Your trainer has a job to do. Let them do it.
3.) Don’t be hard headed. Listen to your body.
4.) Don’t feel guilty if you don’t work out every day.
5.) Everything in moderation. EVERYTHING.
6.) I don’t handle change as well I thought.
7.) People are going to come in and out of your life. It’s ok.
8.) Surround yourself with people who are good for your soul.
9.) Don’t leave things left unsaid. If you care say it. If you miss someone tell them. If you are thankful say it.
10.) You have one body, take care of it.
I haven’t seen the inside of a gym in two months. 🙁
