Kailani at An Island Life has created this really fun idea. If you are interested in joining in, please visit her site for more details. We have one tv in our entire house and it's not in the living room. We have all the computers in one room and we recently traded our office chairs in for exercise balls. Our kids don't have any hand held game devices. I'd say we are a pretty odd family.
So my question for you is...
What do you think makes your family different?

I am really strict about my kids not having candy. My daughter rarely gets it.
We try to keep a healthy balance when it comes to our childrens eating habits. We do let them have the good stuff but not every day. Plus they walk right along with us for about 2 to 3 miles 4-5 times a week.
My little family consists of myself, my housemate, his girlfriend who's just moved over to the UK from Australia, his son that stays with us about once a month and my dog...so technically we wouldn't be classed as an official family, but to us a family is all about what you make it.
hhhmmmmm...I guess having teens who never did anything for attention is pretty good for me.
Have a great Friday!

My kids LOVE to eat their veggies...and typically eat them first.
I hope what's different about us is that in everything we do as a family or individuals, we try to glorify God. We make decisions on our parenting, how we spend our money, where we go, what we do, etc. based on what we think God wants for our lives and how we can best be on mission with Him. I would hope that's what makes us look different to the world. Great question!
Hard question. Let's see - my kids are pretty well behaved. Everyone says what good kids they are. They're very respectful to others.
Don't know if that's different - but I'm happy with it♥
Hmm...my girls like tofu. Don't know a lot of kids who like tofu. What else...we don't eat a lot of sweets. They've never had candy. Can't think of anything non-food related for some reason! Great question...it's getting me thinking.
We are a christian family and we do not get into hype or think that our kids need everything on the market.
So we are just laid back and enjoy alone time. We are unique in our own way. It's hard to pinpoint any one thing, but this is our little family.
I think what makes our family different is that we're not going to tell our kids about the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy. We're raising our children in a Christian home and my husband and I both feel like if we "lie" to them about those things, they may feel like Jesus is also just another character. We want them to know and understand the true meaning of holidays like Easter and Christmas.
In our group of friends we are the only ones that keep a kosher kitchen. Adds a twist to people bringing us food and other items. To make it easier we are also mostly vegetarian at home.
Here from both memes. I think my family is unique because my parents are divorced, yet happily spend time together with us, and my sister and I are Jewish and half-Japanese.
well... my mom and dad are best friends with my biological father and his wife... lol... the 4 of them actually rode together to move me into my first apartment...
My husband & I are older than the majority of our kid's friend's parents (sorry, that's a doozy!) but most people think we're younger.
I love the exercise balls idea!
My husband and I both have tattoos, and I have a few piercings as well. I don't look very much like your average stay at home mom, but I don't know if that makes us too different.
We, too, only have one TV and no cable or satellite. We also try to eat "real" food and limit the kids HFCS and artificial colors. We rarely have juice boxes (not that there's anything wrong with them, I just rarely buy them). We also babywear and cloth diaper. Not sure how different that makes us, but it's definitely not the norm in our area.
